I began formal music instruction at the age of ten, primarily on piano, and eventually adding guitar, electric bass, cello and pipe organ to my musical pursuits. I have been teaching piano, guitar, ear training, theory, composition and improvisation in private and group lessons for the past twenty years to all age ranges.

I graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with an emphasis in piano performance and composition. While studying at Millersville University I had the opportunity to work with many internationally renowned pianists and composers in master classes and in specialized private instruction. I have also studied at the graduate level with several composers from West Chester University in group and private instruction.

Since graduating from Millersville University I have continued to teach private lessons in my personal studio and in professional public studios. I have also taught general classroom music in private schools, grades k-12. I have worked as music director for several churches, accompanying on pipe organ and serving as choral director and cantor.

I currently compose in multiple styles and genres, including formal classical, jazz, rock, pop, noise rock, avant garde and experimental techniques.

In teaching, I aim to meet students where they are and bring out their best qualities in accordance with their personal interests, all while providing thorough grounding in the fundamental language of music and artistry. I encourage students to learn the music they love while fostering appreciation and openness to the wide world of musical experience.
