Sharlene holds a Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. She began piano studies at the age of three, and, with perfect pitch and strong sight-reading skills, she demonstrated musical talent from an early age through a wide range of accomplishments.
At ten years old, she won First Prize in the National Music Competition held by the Vienna Musical Educational Foundation and subsequently competed nationally and internationally, earning numerous awards and honors. These include First Prizes at the Los Angeles Liszt Competition and the CAPMT Bartók Festival, Top Winner of the International Russian Music Piano Competition, as well as Best Performance Awards for Liszt’s Concert Étude and Hungarian Rhapsody, among others.
Beyond traditional instruction, Sharlene is deeply committed to helping students truly experience music. She created animated music videos for the complete Carnival of the Animals suite on her official YouTube channel, bringing classical music to life through visuals. The series has been widely praised and is now used by educators and educational organizations worldwide.
With a foundation in performance, pedagogy, and creativity, Sharlene founded Online Piano Lessons to make high-quality piano education accessible to students everywhere. The platform brings together a network of experienced piano teachers who uphold her standards of excellence in technique, musicality, and thoughtful instruction. Whether learning piano for the first time or returning after a break, students can work with a teacher best suited to their goals in a supportive and encouraging environment.
